THE WONDER STUFF DIARIES

Early in 2014, Miles Hunt announced that he had started work on his first printed body of work.

Not a biography, as such, but the story of The Wonder Stuff through his own eyes using notes from his own scrap books written at the time and also personal memories and recollections.

'I began keeping diaries right around the time that we formed The Wonder Stuff in March 1986. Around the same time I also began keeping scrapbooks of any press mentions we got, posters, flyers and back-stage passes, you know the sort of thing. The contents of this first book of mine are drawn directly from those diaries and scrapbooks, giving the reader not only a detailed look into what went on in and around The Wonder Stuff during it's first four years, but also a detailed personal view of how I was feeling about our journey onto rock 'n' roll's uneven path.

I'll make no bones about it, writing this book has been the most difficult thing I have ever done. As well as giving me a new found respect for anyone that has ever published their story, I feel that I have emerged from doing so an ever-so slightly better person. Finding the balance between what could be considered entertainment, and off loading some of the raw honesty that I felt I needed to, has been no easy feat.'

The first volume, released in October 2014, primarily covered the period 1986 to 1989, with recollections from Hunt's childhood, schooldays and pre-Wonder Stuff times.  A second volume detailing the period 1990 to 1994 is planned, with hopes that at least one further volume will bring the story of the group up to date...

Copies of the book could be pre-ordered from IRL, The Wonder Stuff's record label, from Jane 2014 along with a selection of additional exclusive merchandise including the infamous Paul Smith tartan suit and the safari hat as worn by Miles in a number of videos and photoshoots between 1990 and 1994.
