The tracks listed on this page are not official recordings by the group and anyone associated with them.  The quality may not be up to the usual high standards associated with properly released material.

What I've tried to do is to give visitors a taste of some of the performances undertaken by the group, in all of their various line-ups.  As an avid follower of the group, it stands to reason that I've got a lot of stuff that I've collected over the years and I'm glad to be in a position to offer some of my collection to other fans.

I've included a number of bootlegs on this page so that fans can enjoy some first-rate performances or rare moments by the group that otherwise they may not be able to hear.

My plan is that I will update the tracks below periodically to give fans the chance to improve their own collections.  These tracks are neither licensed or authorised by the group and cannot be re-sold or distributed in exchange for any monetary or other value.

1986 - Stourbridge
One of the earliest known recordings of the group recorded in their spiritual hometown of Stourbridge.

There is some confusion about where this gig was recorded, some believe it to be The Mitre in Kingswinford, others say it is the Town Hall in Stourbridge.

Either way, this is is a piece of audio history...

1992, Leicester University (also available as The Very Special Guest bootleg)
This is a rip of a live bootleg album recorded in 1992. The gig was held at Leicester University in memory of Spike, a roadie who had worked with the Wonder Stuff, who had recently died.

Ironically, shortly after originally putting this online I was contacted by Spike's niece who wanted to know if I could help her to track the recording down.  I was only too happy to help and hope that this collection serves as a fitting tribute to the memory of Spike.

The concert featured The Milltown Brothers as headline act with the Stuffies on main support act. It was a unique event as Malc was ill so the group enlisted the help of Loz Hardy from Kingmaker on guitar.

Enjoy!

1993 - KROQ Acoustic Christmas
Acoustic Christmas is an annual concert run by the Los Angeles-based radio station KROQ.  Since the first show in 1990, the concerts have attracted increasingly popular alternative rock bands and singers.  The concerts takes place across one weekend in mid-December, usually at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City.

The Wonder Stuff have appeared at the event twice, once in 1991 and again in 1993.  The tracks below are taken from their 1993 performance.

Introduction
Unbearable
Caught In My Shadow
Piece Of Sky
Cartoon Boyfriend
Don't Let Me Down, Gently

2005 - Toronto (also available as Escape from the Horseshoe Tavern bootleg)
Few good quality recordings are available of performances under the most recent live line-up but this is easily one of the best of all of the groups bootleg albums and captures the true energy of the group as them embark upon their US tour to promote the 'Escape From Rubbish Island' album.

My view on bootlegs is that why should people pay out for them yet the group or artists on the album receive no money or royalties back for them.  Indeed there's a story from a few years back when Miles was at  Camden Market and came across a stall selling bootleg albums.  Upon looking through the material available, he came across some Wonder Stuff bootlegs and told the stall holder that he was going to take them without paying because they had his face on the front of the sleeve.

This bootleg contains a number of tracks which have never appeared on any other live recording, a couple of which are not longer part of the staple live setlist either....

The BBC Sessions missing tracks
As some of the more keen observers have noted, the original track listing for the Live At The BBC compilation album included live versions of Room 410 and I Wish Them All Dead - neither of which actually appeared on the released version.

If you're feeling rather left out by this, hopefully this may go some way to placating you...

Room 410 (Live from the Reading Festival 1992)
I Wish Them All Dead (Idiot Manoeuvres Tour 1994)
